OVERALL PURPOSE:
To participate in the safe, accurate and timely processing of deliveries to meet LOOMIS EXPRESS on-time performance standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivery of all assigned trailers to destination branch, within the specific requirements of both the customer and the company.
- Pick up of all assigned trailers within the specific guidelines of the customer and the company.
- Ensure all trailers are accompanied by ‘Bill of Lading’ and Dangerous Goods Paperwork.
- Compile and submit accurate route records on a daily basis.
- Compile and submit all required C.V.O.R and compliance documentation as required and requested
- Complies will all Highway traffic acts and the National Safety Code
- Perform safety checks on trucks before each use
- Ensure proper maintenance of truck
- Inform Loomis of any route irregularities and significant competitor activity
- Operate under all legal requirements with regards to Hours of Service (HOS) with Electronic Log book regulations.
- Other duties as assigned and as detailed within the CBA & business agreement
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School education
- Valid provincial driver’s license (A-Z)
- Minimum 5 years verifiable highway AZ experience
- Must have a clean driver’s abstract
- Able to lift 70 lbs
- Must own or be willing to obtain own vehicle that meets company specifications
- o Late model Sleeper tractor in white
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks (getting in and out of truck/performing all pre-post trips etc)
- Flexible to work routes assignedNICE TO HAVE:
- Prior CVOR reporting and log completion
- 5+ years A-Z driving Experience
- 3-5 years general business experience
