What You'll Do
As a Health Care Aide, you'll provide hands-on support to clients in their homes and, when required, in care facilities. Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal care needs
- Supporting safe mobility, transfers, and ambulation
- Preparing meals and assisting with feeding
- Providing companionship and encouraging social engagement
- Assisting with medication reminders
- Accompanying clients to appointments, errands, or community outings
- Monitoring client well-being and reporting changes to the care team
- Recording documentation accurately and completing required charting
- Working collaboratively with nurses, coordinators, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintaining a safe, respectful, and clean care environment
Required Qualifications
To be considered, applicants must have:
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide program or equivalent nursing/medical education
- Strong spoken and written English skills. This position requires clear communication with clients, families, supervisors, and healthcare professionals, as well as accurate completion of care documentation.
- A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Care is provided in multiple locations throughout Winnipeg, and caregivers travel between client homes during their shifts.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Adult Abuse Registry Check
- A professional, dependable, and compassionate approach to client care
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or responsive behaviours is considered an asset.

Pay: $34,840.00-$37,440.00 per year
