Provide extensive service in dismantling machinery, transferring equipment, inspecting, adjusting, interpreting blueprints, and installing equipment while following safety rules and regulations
Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Installing machinery and mechanical equipment using hand and power tools.
Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts.
Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations.
Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery.
Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area.
Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures.
Transfer equipment to the applicable site for maintenance to avoid contamination or safety hazards.
Train and teach apprentices and other Maintenance associates
Perform weekly audits on equipment on all BC sites and write reports to responsible Supervisor/Manager
Support Maintenance Overhead in creating and updating PMs
Support Maintenance associates with difficult and more complex tasks. Available for troubleshooting. Issues and create corrective actions/action plans together with the Maintenance Supervisor.
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in reviewing the performance of other Maintenance associates and in creating individual development plans.
Performing other related duties as assigned at other locations.
Red Seal Millwright Certification considered an asset
10 to 15 years of experience completing Millwright duties
In-depth knowledge of construction equipment and machinery
Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
Experience using PLC’s is an asset
Experience of Mig and Stick welding - Welding experience a must
Strong attention to detail with excellent mathematical skills
Must be able to work well in a team environment
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada
Fluent in written and verbal English
