Mountainco Contracting Ltd. is seeking a motivated, reliable, and safety-focused General Labourer to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in supporting civil construction operations, including underground utilities, site development, roadworks, and municipal infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting crews with a variety of physically demanding tasks while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform general labour duties including digging, shoveling, lifting, carrying, grading, and site cleanup.
- Support the installation of underground utilities, drainage systems, waterworks, and other civil construction activities.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free worksite.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, equipment operators, and fellow crew members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Assist with traffic control, material handling, and other site operations as required.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment deficiencies to supervisors promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous construction or general labour experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials and performing strenuous work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are considered an asset.
- Construction safety certifications (such as First Aid, WHMIS, Traffic Control, or Confined Space) are considered an asset.
