Norquay Trusses Ltd. is currently seeking a Truss Design Technician, to work out of our 677 MacDonald, Sault Ste. Marie, ON office location providing assistance to Project Managers and Structural Engineers in the design/analysis of new builds, renovations/expansions, and rehabilitation projects from the conceptual stage through to construction administration.
Reporting to the Senior Management and Ownership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following tasks, along with other requests to assist business operations.
Responsibilities
- Use Mitek Sapphire Software to prepare quotes and plan ready designs for roof trusses and engineered wood floor system designs
- Ensure designs submitted for Engineering Approval are plant ready without mistakes
- Coordinate with Sales Manager to ensure lead times and deadlines are being met
- Assist with other duties as required or assigned by management
- Professional behaviour and leadership are expected as a representative of the Company.
Qualifications
- Architectural or Civil Engineering Technician Diploma required
- 1 to 2 years of related engineering field experience will be considered an asset
- Desire to work in office on detailed CAD BIM Software
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software or other drafting software is an asset.
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian standards, industry guidelines, and current industry practices.
- Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Work both as a team and independently
- Good organizational skills with initiative, and that can handle challenges during execution of these projects.
- Ability to prioritize and do multiple tasks in a fast-paced turnaround environment.
- Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Maintain a Class G Driver’s License
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
