We are seeking a Program Coordinator, Rural and Remote Communities to engage with local newcomers and their families in the Placentia, Bonavista Peninsula and Burin Peninsula to support integration into their communities. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and facilitating group activities for newcomers that support; healthy, and active living for all ages, with a special emphasis on seniors and youth. The Program Coordinator will support the growth and improvement for English language skills, creating community connection through group and local events. Fostering youth leadership, and intergenerational activities both in person and virtually. This is a contract position that includes local provincial travel as needed with an expected end date of March 31, 2027 with the possibility of extension.

Undergraduate Degree in Education, Social Work, Social Sciences or an acceptable combination of education ad relevant experience

Minimum two years experience working in a Program Coordinator or Lead position

Experience working with community partners in a developmental role

Experience working with newcomers in a recreation/community setting is considered an asset

Experience working with Microsoft Office Suites

Strong understanding and knowledge of positive youth developmental practices

Valid Newfoundland driver's licence and access to a vehicle
