Our team
Our VLT (Valuation, Litigation & Transaction) team consists of full-service transaction advisors (buy or sell) that advise clients through the entire M&A process – from the initial valuation, quality of earnings assessment, preparation of a financial model and CIM, integration, and through closing – we assist our clients through some of their most important business and life decisions.
Role Overview: As an M&A Associate at Richter, you will play a critical role in leading and executing mid-market and private company M&A transactions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients, guiding them through every stage of the M&A process - from initial valuation to the final closing. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping some of the most significant business decisions our clients face.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Execution: Lead and execute mid-market and private company M&A transactions, ensuring a seamless process from initial assessment to closing.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business objectives, and providing strategic advisory services throughout the transaction process.
- Marketing & Business Development: Develop and present compelling marketing pitches and transaction-related materials (e.g., CIM, teasers, buyer lists) to potential and existing clients.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare and oversee integrated financial models, including discounted cash flow and valuation analyses, to support proposals and transaction documents.
- Due Diligence & Negotiations: Facilitate discussions among various stakeholders (buyers, sellers, legal counsel) during due diligence and negotiations, ensuring all parties are aligned and informed.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive company and industry research to produce concise summaries and inform transaction strategies.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor less experienced staff, fostering their development and ensuring high-quality work output.
- Collaboration with Legal Counsel: Work closely with legal teams to prepare definitive purchase and sale documentation, ensuring all legal aspects of the transaction are meticulously handled.
- Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy and quality of all transaction-related deliverables, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in audit or transaction advisory services
- Undergraduate or graduate degree with a focus on accounting, finance or business administration along with the completion of your CPA
- Effective verbal and written communication skills at a business level
- Strong computer literacy with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and Word presentation skills
- Very strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple mandates.
- Ability to prepare a financial analysis with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment under time constraints
- Comprehensive financial and accounting skills, including knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Demonstrated ability to learn in fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and complex concepts

The salary range for this position is $78,000–$106,000, and employees may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program. Compensation complies with applicable pay transparency legislation and is regularly reviewed to stay market competitive. Salaries within the range reflect individual contributions and are based on objective factors such as internal equity, experience, education, role scope, and required skills
