Yellowhead Community Services Society is a not for profit, integrated health/social service agency with offices located in Clearwater, Barriere, Merritt, Lillooet, and Ashcroft. We are currently seeking a Casual Community Support Worker to join our team in Barriere, BC.
Key Duties:
- Providing community support to adults with developmental disabilities
- Advocates and assists individuals to recognize and exercise their rights, promote independence and self-determination
- Assist individuals with locating, accessing and participating in community resources/ activities/groups
Hours of Work
Shifts will typically take place between the hours of 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday – Friday, but may include evenings and weekends depending on program needs. This is a casual position involving both on-call and scheduled coverage. Shifts will be a minimum of 2 hours per call-in.
Qualifications
Degree/diploma/certificates in relevant field is preferred, however, individuals with related experience and/or a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply and will be considered. Basic computer skills required. Any offers of employment will be subject to a clean criminal record check. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s abstract. Access to a reliable vehicle is required. Current first aid would be an asset.
Compensation
Rate of pay for this position is dependent on a combination of education and/or experience and ranges from $24.38 to $28.42/hr.
