Class 1 Driver – Farm & Propane Operations

Job Overview
Victoria Trail Farms Ltd. and Redi-Go Enterprises Ltd. are seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Class 1 Driver to join our team. This is a unique position that combines grain farming, bulk propane delivery, and equipment maintenance. No two days are the same, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working outdoors, and operating equipment.
The successful candidate will be dependable, mechanically inclined, able to work independently, and committed to providing safe, professional, and friendly service. Since you'll be interacting directly with our propane customers, we're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and helps build lasting customer relationships. There is excellent potential for this position to become a permanent full-time career for the right individual.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial vehicles to haul grain, agricultural products, and bulk propane.
- Deliver bulk propane to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers while providing courteous, professional customer service.
- Build positive relationships with customers by representing our company in a friendly and professional manner.
- Identify customer needs and communicate opportunities for additional products or services when appropriate.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required vehicle documentation.
- Load and unload products and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate farm equipment, skid steers, picker trucks, and other machinery as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on trucks, trailers, farm equipment, and propane equipment.
- Assist with equipment setup, servicing, and seasonal farm operations.
- Perform general yard, shop, and building maintenance.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logbooks, and required paperwork.
- Follow all transportation, TDG, and workplace safety regulations.
- Work independently while contributing to a small, team-oriented operation.
- Be willing to work extended hours during busy seasons such as seeding, harvest, and winter propane demand.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Valid Class 1 Driver's Licence (required)
- Clean driver's abstract
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and represent the company professionally
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
- Commitment to safe work practices
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
While not required, the following would be considered strong assets:
- Experience in grain farming or agricultural operations
- Experience hauling dangerous goods or bulk propane
- TDG certification
- Experience operating skid steers, loaders, tractors, combines, grain trucks, or other agricultural equipment
- Heavy equipment operation experience
- Previous customer service, sales, or account management experience
- Basic welding, fabrication, or mechanical repair experience

Pay: $25.08-$36.58 per hour
