Events Manager
Location: Ruth’s Chris Steak House – Edmonton
Reports To: General Manager
The Role
The Events Manager is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for the organization, communication, and execution of the private dining and group events program at Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
This is a floor-based leadership role. The Events Manager leads from the floor as part of the management team, supporting both the service team and private dining operations while ensuring consistency, accountability, and exceptional guest experiences across all events.
This role is ideal for a polished hospitality leader who thrives in a premium environment and takes pride in building strong guest relationships, maintaining organized systems, and delivering seamless event execution.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Floor Presence
This is an evening-focused leadership role, with a strong presence required during peak service periods, including weekends and high-volume nights.
Lead service alongside the Restaurant Manager & Beverage Manager to ensure a seamless and elevated guest experience
Set the tone for professionalism, organization, and hospitality standards
Private Dining & Event Oversight
Manage the full private dining pipeline, including inquiries, prospects, tentative bookings, and confirmed events
Coordinate all event communication through Tripleseat, including proposals, contracts, and guest correspondence
Confirm event details including menus, guest counts, floor plans, timelines, and special requests
Ensure all event details are communicated clearly and accurately to the management and culinary teams
Maintain organization and accountability throughout the full event process
Team Development
Work collaboratively with the Restaurant Manager and leadership team to ensure alignment between service execution and private dining operations
Support the team during events and peak service periods
Help reinforce hospitality standards and operational consistency across the dining room
Operational Excellence
Maintain consistency in execution across all events and service periods
Support scheduling and labor management in partnership with leadership
Ensure all systems, processes, and event details are followed with discipline and accuracy
Follow up with guests post-event to ensure satisfaction and identify future opportunities
Guest Experience
Build strong relationships with guests and clients through professional and polished communication
Provide confident guidance throughout the event planning process
Step in to resolve issues and elevate the overall dining experience
Represent the brand with polish and presence at all times
What We’re Looking For
2 to 4 years of leadership experience in an upscale or high-volume restaurant
Experience in private dining, events, catering, or group sales environments
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience using Tripleseat or similar event management software is an asset
A natural leader with presence, confidence, and professionalism
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable leading from the floor in a management capacity
A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience
Comfortable working evenings and weekends, including a consistent closing schedule
