Position Summary
The Logistics and OHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting efficient, accurate, and cost-effective logistics operations while coordinating Occupational Health & Safety (“OHS”) programs across the organization.
Logistics Responsibilities
· Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives related to shipping, freight handling, packaging, process efficiency, and carrier usage.
· Communicate with stores, warehouse teams, carriers, and internal departments to resolve shipping issues and improve logistics flow.
· Review, update, and deliver training materials for warehouse staff related to shipping processes, safety expectations, documentation standards, and operational procedures.
· Monitor freight and shipping charges to support cost control, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective action.
· Review and approve shipping invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal requirements.
Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities
· Maintain Occupational Health & Safety (“OHS”) policies, procedures, compliance programs, and related documentation.
· Lead the OHS committee by preparing agendas, coordinating meetings, documenting action items, and supporting follow-up on safety initiatives.
· Track, review, and follow up on workplace injury reporting. Review WCB, WSIB, and WorkSafeBC claims and supporting documentation, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as required.
· Perform and assist with incident reviews, hazard identification, safety inspections, and the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
Qualifications and Experience
· Experience in logistics, warehouse operations, shipping coordination, occupational health and safety, or a related administrative role.
· Working knowledge of shipping processes, freight documentation, cost control practices, and internal controls.
· Understanding of OHS programs, injury reporting, WCB processes, and workplace safety requirements.
· Ability to develop clear procedures, training materials, and communication documents for operational teams.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work with store, warehouse, management, carrier, and committee stakeholders.
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to review documents, identify errors, and follow up on discrepancies.
· Strong organizational, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to maintain accurate records and reporting tools.
