- $ 3.00 per hour for the night premium (9pm to 6am)

$170 + tax annual boot allowance (through our vendor only – keep receipts for reimbursement)

Role Summary: The Millwright Apprentice is a member of the Maintenance team and as such, participates in team efforts to achieve assigned departmental goals. Working closely with all team members is critical in ensuring maintenance activities are completed correctly and on schedule, according to SOP’s and local regulatory requirements. As a Millwright Apprentice on our team, your primary responsibilities will include examination, troubleshooting, replacement/repair of a wide variety of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components. In addition, you will provide technical support to our production team during runtime hours to ensure optimal functionality of all production equipment within the facility. Utilizing our internal asset management system, your daily downtime routine will include preventative, corrective and facility maintenance. Additional tasks/duties maybe required to meet operational demands.
Duties:
- Reading equipment manuals and blueprints to successfully complete installations, troubleshooting and repairs

Installing, troubleshooting and maintaining power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Inspecting and examining equipment to identify irregularities and malfunctions
-
Adjusting equipment and repairing/replacing defective components
-
Operating tools such as lathes and milling machines to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of equipment
-
Participating in continuous improvement projects to optimize equipment safety; efficiency and reliability
-
Completing Work Orders according to PM and CM schedules
-
Complying with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety and environmental policies and procedures

Ensuring that work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times
-
Working in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and internal LOTO policy
-
Performing other related duties as assigned or required
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school is required
- 1+ years’ experience in a high speed manufacturing environment is required
- Actively pursuing (or already in possession of) ticketed or Apprenticeship Level (3-4) in the Millwright Trade
- Previous experience in a Food manufacturing environment
- High aptitude with Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems is required
- Proven track record working with Lathes, Milling Machines and Welding Equipment (ARC, TIG, MIG)
