The Opportunity:
As an internal product expert, lead the development, strategic planning, and execution of the product vision and roadmap for a portfolio of payment products and services, ensuring alignment with business goals and market opportunities.
This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 3 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.
Core Responsibilities
Product Management and Optimization
- Own the product lifecycle for existing payments products including roadmap, backlog prioritization, and performance tracking
- Pull and interpret product data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
- Conduct post-launch reviews and feed insights back into the roadmap
- Manage BAU activities including issue escalation, stakeholder updates, and client support
- New Product Development
- Lead discovery, business case development, and go-to-market planning for new payment products
- Translate strategic vision into actionable product roadmaps with clear milestones and success metrics
- Partner with engineering, compliance, legal, and risk to take products from concept to launch
- Identify market gaps and emerging opportunities within the Canadian payments ecosystem
Stakeholder and Client Engagement
- Build and present executive-level decks and product recommendations to internal leadership and bank clients
- Support client conversations with insights, product updates, and strategic recommendations
- Act as a subject matter expert on payment products with both internal and external stakeholders
Data and Insights
- Define KPIs and success metrics for each product
- Use data to drive prioritization decisions and communicate product performance to leadership
What We Are Looking For:
Education:
- University Degree – Undergraduate or Business graduate preferred
- Relevant certifications within Product Management are preferred
Must Have:
- 5 to 8 years of product management experience with a PM or Senior PM title
- Demonstrated experience in Canadian payments (working knowledge of ACSS, RTR, the regulatory landscape)
- Experience launching or managing SaaS or API-based payment products
- End-to-end PDLC ownership — from discovery and requirements through launch and post-launch iteration
- Strong communication and presentation skills — comfortable presenting to executives and bank stakeholders
- Proven ability to operate with minimal supervision in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Active use of AI tools in day-to-day product work
Nice to Have:
- Experience with open banking, BaaS, or embedded finance
- Familiarity with ISO 20022 or real-time rail architecture
- Experience in a B2B2C model
- Exposure to bill payments, EFT/AFT, or remittance products
