JOB OVERVIEW:
The Sales Desk works to provide a friendly atmosphere for our customers. They are responsible for assisting customers, invoicing and ordering in product for them and maintain the desk. They play a very important role as they generally are the first and last contact for some of our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greeting all customers in a friendly manner within 10 seconds

Processing special orders from both customers and at the request of the Contractor Sales team

Arranging delivery of customers’ order through the shipping department

Invoicing customers who have a charge account

Filling shipment/delivery paperwork

Answering the phone and taking messages, if people are unavailable.

Writing up orders, estimates and transfers for contractor sales

Processing returns up to $250 on cash accounts and $1,000 on charge accounts

Authorizing overrides on accounts who are over their credit limits by $1,000 on charge accounts

Scanning items, ensure that prices and quantities are correct, and collecting payments.

Processing all transactions quickly and in a professional manner

Assisting all customers in finding products and offering product knowledge to enhance their shopping experience

Facing and minor replenishment of stock including cleaning shelves in preparation of new stock arrival within the contractor desk perimeter when not assisting customers

Proactively being aware of all promotions and product availability
QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior lumber yard/retail knowledge and experience
-
Prior customer service experience is considered an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate

Demonstrates a willingness to learn about products

Detail orientated and strong attention to following safe work practices

Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
