Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide personalized guidance on cannabis products based on their preferences and needs
- Educate customers on product effects, usage methods, and responsible consumption practices
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately for cash handling, transactions, and inventory management
- Maintain a clean, organized sales floor with attractive merchandising displays that highlight featured products
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and product filing using computer skills such as Microsoft Excel and filing systems
- Uphold compliance with all legal regulations regarding age verification, product labeling, and security protocols
- Upsell products effectively by understanding customer needs and recommending complementary items to enhance their experience
- Handle heavy lifting when restocking shelves or moving inventory safely while following proper safety procedures
- Manage time efficiently during busy periods to serve customers promptly without compromising quality of service
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French or other languages is a plus for serving diverse communities
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage confidently and professionally
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing transactions accurately
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel; familiarity with POS systems and computer operation is essential
- Organizational skills to maintain tidy merchandising displays and manage filing systems effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when restocking or moving inventory
- Multilingual capabilities are highly valued to connect with a diverse customer base
- Experience in retail sales or hospitality environments is preferred but not required; leadership qualities are a bonus for team collaboration
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques to optimize product presentation and sales opportunities
