Wages & Benefits
- Salary: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour (depending on experience, speed, work ethic, and attitude)
- Performance Incentives: Wage increases based on ongoing performance
- Pay Period: Bi-weekly - Payroll
- Tools & Equipment: All necessary tools will be provided
- Company Vehicle: A company vehicle will be provided for crew coordination and material pick-ups
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of shingling/nailing experience
- License: Must have a VALID driver’s license (a strict requirement for this role)
- Availability: Must be able to start as soon as possible and commit to early morning starts (6:00 AM or 7:00 AM)
- Physical Demands: Must be comfortable working on steep, 2-story roofs and able to lift/carry 70 lbs – 80 lbs
- Safety: Fall Protection certification is preferred (can be supplied/trained if needed)
- Documentation: Minimum 25 years old (for vehicle insurance purposes) and able to provide a valid SIN number
Key Responsibilities
- Crew Leadership: Coordinate daily with the manager and ensure the crew knows where and when to meet for the next project. You will be responsible for picking up and meeting with the rest of the roofing crew.
- Site Safety & Cleanliness: Set up a safe job site using proper safety gear in adherence to OHS guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized site by clearing debris and hazardous materials before breaks and at the end of the day.
- Quality Control: Ensure all products listed on the work order are onsite, installed properly, and up to building code.
- Logistics: Pick up materials from suppliers, deliver/unload them at the job site when needed, take shingle waste to the recycling depot, and grab any shorted materials mid-job.
- Admin: Accurately record all crew hours and ensure proper breaks are taken. Keep receipts, equipment and tools organized.
