About Keats Learning Academy
Keats Learning Academy is a growing tutoring academy in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. We help K–12 students build confidence in French, mathematics, and other core academic subjects through instruction aligned with the BC curriculum. We are also opening a second location in Kitsilano and are looking for tutors who would like to grow with our team.
The role
We are hiring a French tutor to support K–12 students, including French Immersion students who need help succeeding in their immersion courses. Sessions are delivered one-on-one and in small groups at our Lynn Valley academy, with occasional online sessions.
This position is well suited to someone with a French Immersion or equivalent francophone educational background who understands the learning experience of French-language students.
Responsibilities
- Tutor K–12 students in Core French and provide French Immersion support.
- Deliver sessions primarily in person at our Lynn Valley location.
- Occasionally deliver online sessions when needed.
- Track student progress and communicate achievements and areas for improvement to our team.
- Optionally tutor mathematics if qualified; tutors who can teach both subjects may receive additional hours.
Qualifications
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is required, whether formal or informal.
- French Immersion or equivalent francophone educational experience is required.
- Fluency in French and the ability to teach comfortably in French are required.
- Current post-secondary students and graduates are welcome to apply.
- A genuine interest in teaching and helping young people build confidence.
- Ability to tutor K–12 mathematics is a strong asset.
- Availability during weekday after-school and early-evening hours.
- Weekend availability is an asset.
- Ability to commute to Lynn Valley, North Vancouver.
Compensation and growth
- Starting wage of $20.00 per hour, with opportunities for growth based on experience, performance, and student load.
- Hours may increase as the tutor's student roster grows.
- Tutors qualified to teach both French and mathematics may receive priority for additional hours.
