Service & Operations Manager – Ottawa RV Truck & Trailer (ORVTT)
Position Overview
Ottawa RV Truck & Trailer is seeking a hands-on Service & Operations Manager to run the day-to-day operations of our service facility.
This role is responsible for workflow, customer communication, parts coordination, and financial performance of the shop. You will work alongside an experienced Shop Foreman who oversees technicians and repair quality, allowing you to focus on keeping the operation organized, efficient, and profitable.
This is an “everything” role to start. As we continue to grow this business, the structure will evolve and additional roles will be added. The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow with the operation and help shape what it becomes.
This is a multi-functional role that requires accountability, urgency, and strong organizational skills. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the service operation from intake to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Shop Workflow & Scheduling
- Plan and manage all incoming work across 4 bays and 4 technicians
- Prioritize jobs based on urgency, parts availability, and capacity
- Ensure consistent technician utilization and minimal downtime
- Maintain an organized and efficient workflow at all times
Work Orders & Billing
- Open, manage, and close all work orders
- Ensure all labour and parts are accurately billed
- Capture and approve additional work identified during repairs
- Maintain clean, accurate documentation
Parts & Inventory Coordination
- Order and track parts required for all active jobs
- Ensure parts are available in a timely manner to avoid delays
- Maintain basic inventory levels and organization
Customer Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for service customers
- Provide quotes, updates, and realistic timelines
- Manage expectations and handle escalations professionally
Financial Performance
- Monitor service gross profit (labour and parts)
- Ensure labour recovery and proper billing on all jobs
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency
Coordination with Shop Foreman
- Work closely with the foreman to align on priorities and workload
- Support the foreman by ensuring jobs are properly staged and ready
- Allow the foreman to focus on technician performance and repair quality

Qualifications
- Experience in service operations, shop management, or service advising
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Mechanical understanding (RV, truck, or related industry preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Financial awareness (understanding of labour, parts, and gross profit)
Compensation Plan
Base Salary: $70,000 per year
Performance Incentive Plan
Designed to reward efficiency, profitability, and shop performance.
Service Gross Profit Bonus
- 3% of monthly service net profit (labour + parts)
- Paid monthly
Expected Earnings
- Typical: $80,000 – $95,000
- High Performance: $100,000+
