Job Summary
The Print Production Technician / Operator will be responsible for operating digital printing equipment, large format printers, and finishing equipment while ensuring production quality and deadlines are met. This role also includes customer service, file preparation, troubleshooting, and assisting with daily shop operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate digital production printers and large format printing equipment
- Prepare print files for production and ensure print accuracy
- Perform cutting, laminating, binding, folding, mounting, and finishing tasks
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues - Conduct quality checks before, during, and after production
- Manage workflow and prioritize jobs based on deadlines
- Assist customers in-store, over the phone, and through email
- Prepare quotes and process customer orders
- Handle basic graphic design and editing tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas
- Monitor inventory levels of production materials and supplies
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Work closely with management and team members to ensure smooth operations
- Wear company-provided uniform/polo shirt while on duty
- Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies Qualifications
- Experience in print production, sign production, or graphic design preferred
- Experience operating digital presses or large format printers is an asset
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
