Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tile surfaces in residential and commercial spaces. This role requires a strong understanding of flooring installation, tile laying techniques, and the ability to read blueprints to ensure precise and quality work. The Tile Installer will work closely with other construction professionals to deliver durable and aesthetically pleasing results that meet project specifications.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate adhesives or mortar for tile installation
- Measure and cut tiles accurately using hand tools to fit designated spaces according to blueprints or design plans
- Lay tiles in patterns or layouts specified by project requirements, ensuring proper spacing and alignment
- Use hand tools such as trowels, cutters, and spacers to facilitate efficient installation
- Perform grouting, caulking, sealing, and finishing work to ensure a clean and professional appearance
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine layout and material requirements
- Assist with other carpentry or handyman tasks as needed on the job site
- Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols and properly handling tools and materials
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools used in tile installation, carpentry, and general construction
- Experience with flooring installation, including tile laying techniques for various surfaces
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics accurately
- Strong knowledge of caulking, sealing, and finishing processes for durable results
- Construction experience preferred, especially in residential or commercial projects
- Handyman experience is a plus for versatile task handling on-site
- Good physical stamina for lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various conditions
