Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care across acute care, senior care, pediatric, hospice, and home care settings
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess changes in health condition
- Assist with procedures including phlebotomy, laboratory testing, and pain management
- Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on health management, medications, and post-care instructions
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
- Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and families
- Participate in case management and care coordination activities as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid RN or RPN license in Canada or eligibility to practice
- Experience in nursing homes, hospitals, acute care, home care, hospice, assisted living, dementia care, or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient assessment
- Experience using Epic, Cerner, or other electronic medical record systems is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
