NORTH VANCOUVER, BC - As a Night Auditor / Guest Services Agent, you will represent the hotel to the guest primarily on the overnight shift and always provide them with the warmest welcome. Responsibilities include completing the night audit checklist and executive reports, welcoming guests to the hotel and determining their needs, registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, assisting with recommendations and reservations for local amenities and attractions, and ensuring the guests have a pleasant stay and smooth checkout.
Job Duties Include:
- Be an ambassador of the Seaside Hotel and Executive Hotel & Resorts brands
- Conducts Hotel night audit and reconciliation in accordance with company standards.
- Undertakes regular hallway patrols to ensure smooth hotel operations are maintained.
- Reviews arrivals list for the current and following day and checks VIP notes and special requests
- Maintains a balanced float assigned by the hotel. Reconcile all transactions at the end of each shift.
- Handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible; assist guests in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, in-house events, directions, etc.
- Answers internal and external telephone inquiries in an efficient and friendly manner, following hotel telephone etiquette guidelines and using guest names when possible.
- Accepts reservations, changes, and cancellations in the absence of Reservations Department Staff.
- Answers guest calls and directs them appropriately.
- Confirms out-of-order rooms with Housekeeping, and updates the status of rooms as necessary
- Completes shift checklist and pass on important information.
- Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence of or due to heavy volume in the areas of Concierge, Bell Staff, and lobby coverage.
- Must have the ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the hotel management and staff.
- Abide by the policies and procedures as set out in the Colleague Handbook and any other applicable policies.
- Must work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management.
- Attends all scheduled shifts, including shift work and weekend work in accordance with the schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a Concierge role within a luxury property is a distinct advantage.
- Previous hotel-related experience, PMS knowledge preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to communicate with public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license is an asset
- Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events.
- Ability to understand and adhere to proper credit, debit, check, and cash handling policies and procedures. Able to properly secure guest information
