Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Resource Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will report to the Black Seniors Support Board of Directors. The Resource Coordinator is responsible for executing the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of Black Seniors Support.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to workforce planning and employee development within a dynamic organization.
Responsibilities
- Implement policies established by the Board of Directors;
- Providing leadership, direction, and guidance to Black Seniors Support programs and activities;
- Develop and maintain organizational structure and effective personnel;
- Coordinate support services for black seniors to assist them in maintaining their independent living status;
- Representing Black Seniors Support before regulatory bodies, other agencies, community and civic organizations, donors, funders, and supporters, and the public.
- Engage in cold calling and outreach efforts to attract passive candidates and expand the talent pipeline.
Education
· Post Secondary Education (Preferred) or Grade 12 Education (Minimum)
Qualifications and Experience - The ideal candidate should possess
- A university degree, or equivalent, with at least 2 years of work experience in community development or at least 2 years of relevant work with older adults.
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit/ voluntary organizations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with particular emphasis on developing and maintaining a good rapport with black older adults.
- Passionate and empathetic personality to relate to the needs of Black Seniors in the community.
- Knowledge of the aging process, especially in relation to black older adults.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with older adults, the general public, volunteers, and others.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Computer experience in word processing and spreadsheets would be an asset.
- Ability to organize volunteer activities.
- Ability to maintain good office practices and a current filing system.
- Experience in performing supervisory roles.
- Knowledge of financial management.
Physical and Working Conditions
- May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary
- May be required to travel to other jurisdictions as the position duties may require
Requirements
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
Pay: From $43,000.00 per year
