Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting pet products, supplies, and accessories
- Operate POS systems efficiently for cash handling and transactions
- Conduct product demos and provide information on pet care items to enhance customer experience
- Upsell relevant products to meet customer needs and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain organized merchandising displays to attract customers and promote featured items
- Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as needed
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Ensure accurate cash handling, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Support store cleanliness and organization to create an inviting shopping environment
- Assist with basic math calculations for transactions and sales reporting
Experience
- Prior retail sales or cashiering experience preferred, especially in pet or specialty stores
- Technical sales experience or familiarity with product demos is a plus
- Bilingual skills (English and another language) are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent phone etiquette
- Demonstrated organizational skills and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to upsell products effectively
- Basic math proficiency for handling transactions accurately
