Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Welding Application Technician to provide technical support and application expertise for advanced manual and robotic welding systems. This role supports customers throughout Ontario by conducting welding demonstrations, troubleshooting applications, delivering technical training, assisting with equipment installations, and supporting the sales team with technical expertise. The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with customers, and traveling to support a variety of welding applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers and distribution partners.
- Conduct manual and robotic welding demonstrations and application testing.
- Troubleshoot and optimize welding processes both on-site and remotely.
- Deliver technical training to customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Assist with equipment configuration, installation, retrofits, and commissioning.
- Support product launches, trade shows, and technical presentations.
- Document welding test results, customer feedback, and market trends.
- Act as the technical expert during the sales process.
Requirements
- 3-year diploma in Welding Engineering Technology or 5+ years of hands-on welding experience.
- Strong welding experience with SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes.
- Experience with robotic welding is considered an asset.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Must be legally authorized and willing to travel throughout Ontario, with occasional travel across Canada, the U.S., and Europe.
- English communication skills required; German is considered an asset.
Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- Hands on welding: 5 years (preferred)
