Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our back of house team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cake artistry, food presentation, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves designing and decorating cakes for various occasions, ensuring each creation meets high standards of quality and visual appeal. The Cake Decorator will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with team members to produce beautiful, delicious baked goods that delight our customers.
Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and pastries according to customer specifications and bakery standards
- Prepare cake fillings, frostings, and decorative elements with precision and creativity
- Ensure all baked goods are visually appealing and meet quality standards before display or sale
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as baking, portioning, and packaging baked goods
- Provide excellent customer service by offering product recommendations and answering questions about decorated items
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times
- Collaborate with bakers and other team members to coordinate production schedules and fulfill orders efficiently
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or food presentation preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Strong skills in cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and airbrushing if applicable
- Experience working in a restaurant or bakery environment is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Basic food preparation skills including baking, cooking, and packaging products
- Kitchen experience within the food industry is advantageous
