Overview
The Facilities Technician provides general support to the Facilities Manager in maintaining a safe, clean, compliant, and well-functioning facility. This role reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for assisting with routine maintenance activities, cleaning and preparation of equipment and rooms, filter changes, basic repairs, work order completion, record keeping, and health and safety practices.
The Facilities Technician works closely with the Facilities Manager and other team members to ensure facility areas, equipment, and support systems are maintained in accordance with company procedures, Good Production Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the Facilities Manager with routine facility maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general upkeep.
- Complete assigned work orders in a timely, safe, and organized manner.
- Perform routine cleaning, preparation, and basic maintenance of assigned equipment, rooms, and facility areas.
- Assist with room turnover and preparation for the next operational process, including cleaning, staging, and confirming readiness.
- Change filters and support preventative maintenance activities as directed.
- Inspect facility areas and equipment to identify cleanliness, maintenance, safety, or operational concerns.
- Communicate maintenance issues, equipment concerns, and facility observations to the Facilities Manager.
- Maintain accurate records, including work orders, cleaning records, preventative maintenance records, inspection forms, and daily activity logs.
- Follow all applicable SOPs related to facility maintenance, sanitation, production support, equipment use, and safety.
- Support health and safety expectations by maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Wear required PPE and handle chemicals in accordance with SDS, WHMIS, and company procedures.
- Assist with basic facility tasks, which may include minor repairs, use of hand tools, organizing supplies, moving equipment, and supporting operational teams as required.
- Participate in cleaning and sanitation of facility areas and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Support production or packaging areas when operationally required, provided tasks are assigned and completed in accordance with training and SOPs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or senior management.
Working Conditions
- Work may take place in warm, humid, dry, cool, or production-related environments.
- Role may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Must be physically able to work in awkward spaces when required.
- Work may involve the use of cleaning chemicals, tools, maintenance supplies, and PPE.
- Must be comfortable working in a regulated facility environment with strong documentation and sanitation/cleanliness expectations.
Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of related experience in facilities, maintenance, custodial, sanitation, production support, or a similar hands-on role is preferred.
- Ability to follow written procedures, instructions, safety requirements, and work orders.
- Experience using hand tools and basic power tools is considered an asset.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or work order systems, are considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate record keeping.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to support changing operational priorities.

Pay: $16.75-$17.50 per hour
