We are currently seeking a motivated and safety-focused, entry-level Journeyperson Powerline Technician to join our team.
Position Summary
The Journeyperson Powerline Technician will be responsible for the construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong technical skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power distribution systems
- Work on poles, towers, and bucket trucks in various weather conditions
- Perform switching, troubleshooting, and emergency restoration work
- Read and interpret utility drawings, work orders, and system maps
- Operate and maintain powerline equipment and tools
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Participate in scheduled on-call and emergency response work as required
- Complete job documentation and safety paperwork accurately
Requirements/Qualifications
- Certified Journeyperson Powerline Technician (Red Seal preferred)
- Valid Class DZ or AZ driver’s license with clean abstract
- Previous utility or contractor experience considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and safety procedures
- Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to travel and work overtime when required
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
