Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Camel Towing Tow Truck Operator to join our team. This role involves safely transporting vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, experience with various towing equipment, and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally. Prior experience with automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and driving commercial vehicles is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized equipment, to recover and transport vehicles safely
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring minimal damage
- Perform basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery method
- Assist with automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed, leveraging mechanic experience when applicable
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the tow truck and work area at all times
- Manage conflict situations professionally, providing excellent customer service during stressful or difficult interactions
- Drive commercial vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Use forklifts or other equipment as required for loading or unloading vehicles in specific scenarios
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members to coordinate operations efficiently
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed models
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics
- Experience with manual transmissions and automotive repair is preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; 1A, 3A, Class 5 commercial driving license (CDL) is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict calmly and professionally
- Ability to load & unload vehicles safely using appropriate equipment
- Prior experience working as a mechanic or in automotive diagnostics enhances suitability for this role
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and adherence to traffic laws
- Ability to work independently in various weather conditions and maintain high safety standards
Pay: $45,289.40-$113,207.34 per year
