Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipe Fitter / Plumber to join our team. This role involves installing piping systems in a mine setting The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools, and experience reading schematics and blueprints. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Duties
- Install, assemble, and repair piping systems according to specifications and schematics
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Use hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters, calipers, and other mechanical tools for precise work
- Conduct routine maintenance on piping systems to ensure optimal performance
- Measure materials accurately using calipers and basic math skills for proper fitting
- Rigging and lifting heavy pipe sections or equipment safely during installation or repairs
- Troubleshoot issues within piping systems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments
- Maintain a clean work environment adhering to safety standards and protocols
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines
Experience
- Journeyperson Pipe Fitter or Plumber certification
- Ability to read mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with rigging, schematics interpretation, and the use of hand tools required
- Familiarity mining and other heavy industry projects is preferred
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during installation
- Prior experience working with calipers and other precision measuring tools is advantageous
This position requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous learning. Candidates must be capable of working in physically demanding environments while maintaining attention to detail.
