The Role
Reporting to the Manager ,Transit Planning and Projects , The Transit Service Project Manager, Systems is responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of complex transit service, fleet, facilities, and capital infrastructure projects, including digital service improvements. This role integrates transit planning, asset management, and large-scale municipal infrastructure delivery to support safe, efficient, and customer-focused transit operations.
The position leads multi-disciplinary projects from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with operational needs, strategic priorities, and regulatory requirements. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills to deliver high-profile initiatives on time and within budget.
To qualify, you'll need...
University degree in Planning, Business, Public Administration, Geography, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in transit, transportation, or municipal infrastructure.
Experience with transit technology, electronic systems.
Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects, including capital infrastructure initiatives
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent (preferred)
Superior project management skills with an ability to apply sound project management to the implementation of service improvements in a transportation setting
Sound knowledge of transit/transportation planning principles, practices and techniques
Experiencing using transit planning systems, transit technology platforms, and transit/transportation infrastructure design and construction tools
Must have excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence others
Superior project management skills with an ability to apply sound project management to the implementation of service improvements in a transportation setting
Sound knowledge of transit/transportation planning principles, practices and techniques

Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to formulate solutions to complex issues
Knowledge of related acts and legislation such as the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and the accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and standards
Required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check
