Resident checks and rounds (including, but not limited to vitals, breathing, incontinent round, safety rounds, narcotic, and charting)
Medication administration (includes processing Doctor’s orders)
Resident personal care (includes feeding/assistance, bowel care, dressing, wound care, and blood work)
Resident, family, and staff support (includes addressing questions and concerns, and assisting other Northwood workers)
General duties and administration (includes mail, paperwork, ordering supplies, assigning duties)
Completes other tasks and duties as assigned
Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses with pharmacological training
Licensed Practical Nurse registered in the Province of Nova Scotia
Current basic CPR
Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis
Previous experience in gerontological nursing an asset
Leadership /Charge experience preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Good problem solving and decision-making skills
Demonstrated use of proper body mechanics and ability to perform heavy lifting
Knowledge of / experience with a team based person-centered care approach
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team
