Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to support our outbound shipping operations and daily shipment processing. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and effective shipment management while coordinating with carriers, drivers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify customer orders prior to shipment to ensure accuracy.
- Process shipments through the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Perform rate shopping and select the most efficient and effective carrier options.
- Print, prepare, and apply shipping labels and related documentation.
- Schedule carrier pickups and coordinate shipment dispatches.
- Communicate with carriers, drivers, and internal departments to ensure smooth shipping operations.
- Arrange pickups for incoming shipments, including international pickups.
- Support sample shipments and daily outbound order fulfillment activities.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Assist in resolving shipment issues, delays, or carrier-related concerns.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and shipping software
