ABOUT THE POSITION
The Material Handler - Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of automotive parts, materials, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility and warehouse. This role supports production operations by ensuring timely delivery of components, maintaining inventory accuracy, and adhering to safety, quality, and operational standards.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, transport, and store automotive parts, raw materials, and finished products.
- Supply production lines with required materials according to production schedules.
- Move materials between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas.
- Perform pre-operational inspections of forklifts and report maintenance issues.
- Scan, record, and track inventory movements using warehouse management systems (WMS) or handheld scanners.
- Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and storage of materials.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock reconciliation activities.
- Follow all workplace safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with production, quality, shipping, and receiving teams to meet operational goals.
REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid forklift certification/license as required by local regulations.
- Minimum 1–3 years of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment preferred.
- Experience operating various types of forklifts, including counterbalance, reach truck, and electric forklifts.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, shipping documents, and inventory records.
