About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent with a strong background in civil construction and piling to lead site operations on large-scale projects in Montreal.
This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who understands how construction sites operate day-to-day and can drive execution safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You will be responsible for managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring all work is completed in alignment with project requirements, schedule, and safety expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all on-site contractor construction activities related to civil and piling works as the Owner’s Representative
- Ensure work is executed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Issue and manage daily work permits for contractors performing civil and piling operations
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, including daily hazard assessments and site inspections
- Supervise contractors, and site personnel to maintain productivity and quality
- Plan and coordinate daily site operations, including manpower, equipment, and materials
- Monitor project progress and support schedule adherence
- Identify and resolve site issues proactively to avoid delays or cost impacts
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution
- Support RFIs, change orders, and field-level engineering coordination
- Ensure quality control and compliance with project standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient job site
- Mentor and lead site teams to foster a strong and professional work environment
- Maintain a strong understanding of heavy equipment operations and construction
- Plan and coordinate construction sequencing with other discipline superintendents to ensure safe and uninterrupted site activities
Qualifications
- Mandatory: 10–25+ years of experience in civil construction, with significant and demonstrated experience in industrial piling, civil works, and foundation construction
- Proven experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, or Site Supervisor
- Strong field background with hands-on construction experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and heavy equipment operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- EPCM experience is required
- Experience managing crews and contractors on active job sites
- Fluency in French (spoken and written) is required
- English is considered an asset
