Specsavers is looking for Eyecare Consultants to join our team!
No experience in optical is required. We look for kind, energetic and customer service focused people to help our customers choose their eyewear; making it an exceptional and memorable experience for them. We want people who will treat their patients as if they would their own family members.
Eyecare Consultants are an integral part of our store team and crucial to our customer service journey. Our consultants are the face of Specsavers, providing expert advice to our customers on our range of fashionable frames and guiding those who are trying contact lenses for the first time.
An Eyecare Consultants job is so much more than just your average retail job and although we are in a mall, this definitely isn’t your typical retail job! It’s a dynamic mix between retail and healthcare and individuals with a real passion for making a difference in peoples lives really thrive in this role.
At many high-street retailers, ambitious shop-floor staff might expect to work their way up to store management. At Specsavers, you can also aim to own your own Specsavers store one day or dive into the optical world and start your career with us as an Optician or eventually even an Eye Doctor. Many of our store partners began their Specsavers journey as Eyecare Consultants and now lead enthusiastic teams in their own store.
No two days are ever the same at Specsavers. As a Consultant, you’ll serve a number of customers with differing needs throughout the day. You’ll need to be able to work well with others in a busy team environment, be professional, as well as be able to quickly provide solutions and helpful guidance on our products and services. You may even be helping the doctor with preliminary testing before they have their exam, performing tests on our patients such as OCT and UWF. Other days may be spent fitting our patients with their glasses for the very first time, ensuring fit and expectations are clearly explained before they leave with their new glasses. But don’t worry, to support you in meeting a wide range of customer needs, you’ll have continuous support from your managers and colleagues off or on the shop floor.
For this role, we accept applications from individuals both with or without optical experience. As long as you have a passion for delivering high levels of customer service and building positive relationships within a team, we want to hear from you. In return, we’ll offer a supportive and enjoyable working environment, where ongoing training and development opportunities are part of an everyday working life.
We pride ourselves in amazing customer service but also in creating an amazing work space and culture for our team members. There’s a reason we’ve won multiple awards for being the best place to work globally and for our commitment to training- as a business, we’re dedicated to nurturing talented people and letting them thrive. We are also Great Place to Work certified! You and your colleagues will always be encouraged to boost your knowledge and learn new skills throughout your time at Specsavers. We offer a number of training resources specializing in a variety of areas, from optics and customer service to leadership and more.
