Express Employment Professionals is currently searching for a Production & Purchasing Coordinator to join our client’s established manufacturing team in Dartmouth. Our client operates in a machine shop, welding, and fabrication environment and is looking for an experienced manufacturing professional who can support production planning, purchasing, quality processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor production schedules and work closely with department heads, machinists, welders, and fabricators to help ensure production deadlines are met
- Coordinate production activities and support the flow of work throughout the facility
- Determine material requirements and source materials from existing and new suppliers as required
- Support purchasing activities, including developing and maintaining related policies, procedures, and records
- Standardize part routings, inspection processes, and production documentation using ProShop ERP
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing development of an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Participate in developing document control processes, policies, procedures, and records related to machining, welding, and fabrication operations
- Assist with establishing quality objectives, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Read and interpret technical drawings and support quality and inspection processes
- Participate in internal audits, management reviews, and external certification audits
- Assist with corrective and preventive actions and root cause analysis related to quality issues
- Help identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, and defects
- Support and train employees on quality procedures and newly implemented ISO requirements
- Promote a collaborative environment focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, ideally within a machine shop, welding, or fabrication setting
- At least 2 years of experience in production coordination, purchasing, quality, or a related manufacturing function
- Experience with or knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems is considered a strong asset
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience is considered an asset
- Able to read and understand technical drawings
- Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly ProShop ERP, is considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a personable and approachable communication style
- Able to build positive working relationships and communicate effectively with employees across different areas of the organization
- Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment and regularly moving throughout the facility
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and changing production needs
- Must have CSA-approved steel-toed boots with ankle protection
Our client offers:
- Salary of approximately $50,000–$70,000 per year, based on experience
- Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 am–3:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch
