We're seeking a permanent part-time professional to support the growth and operations of a diversified portfolio including small businesses, residential real estate holdings across Alberta, and land development projects across western Canada. This role is specifically designed for someone who wants meaningful professional work without full-time commitment, whether you're a recent retiree wanting to stay engaged, a parent with school-age children seeking intellectual work beyond the home, or someone looking to get back into the workforce on your own terms.
You'll work remotely (Edmonton and area-based) with flexible scheduling as a consistent team member, not a temporary hire. Your role will be stable and ongoing, with varied strategic work that draws on your skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor market conditions and growth opportunities across assigned business lines, residential holdings, and land development prospects
- Coordinate with local partners, contractors, and service providers across Alberta and western Canada
- Source and obtain competitive quotes from contractors and suppliers; manage procurement processes
- Prepare basic business analysis and summaries to support decision-making
- Track project timelines, budgets, and key metrics for residential and land development holdings
- Support business planning and feasibility assessment for new ventures
- Maintain organized records and systems for portfolio tracking
- Handle ad-hoc projects and coordination needs as they arise
Ideal Candidate
- Advanced degree (business, finance, planning, real estate, or related field) or equivalent professional experience
- Recent retiree or stay-at-home parent seeking part-time professional engagement
- Comfortable with independent work and self-direction
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in real estate, business operations, or strategic planning is an asset.
- Comfortable managing multiple, shifting priorities and varied task types
- Familiarity with western Canadian markets is a plus
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to figure things out without constant direction
The Position
- 20-25 hours per week, remote with flexible scheduling
- $25-30/hour based on experience
- Permanent part-time role (not temporary)
- T4A or staff member structure based on candidate preference
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
