MTLI Group is hiring an HSE Manager — Construction & Industrial Projects to lead health, safety, and environmental compliance across our growing North American operations.
This role will support active field projects including industrial construction, warehouse automation, pallet racking, conveyor systems, mezzanines, relocations, decommissions, maintenance, and other high-risk site work.
We are looking for a field-first safety leader who can support project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and crews while ensuring every project is planned and executed safely.
Key Responsibilities
Own HSE compliance across MTLI job sites in Canada and the United States.
Prepare and maintain project safety documentation including:
Site-specific safety plans
JHAs / JSAs / FLHAs
Toolbox talks
Fall protection plans
Lift plans
Emergency response plans
Incident and near-miss reports
Corrective action reports
Training and certification records
Customer safety packages
Conduct site safety audits, inspections, and field observations.
Support project start-ups, orientations, pre-job planning, and customer safety requirements.
Ensure workers and subcontractors meet required certifications, including WHMIS, Working at Heights, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, Forklift, LOTO, OSHA 10 / OSHA 30, and other site-specific requirements.
Investigate incidents, near misses, injuries, property damage, and safety concerns.
Lead corrective actions and follow up until issues are closed.
Support high-risk work planning for racking installation, conveyor installation, mezzanine work, equipment operation, demolition, decommissioning, electrical/mechanical coordination, and work in live warehouse environments.
Maintain safety systems, training matrices, inspection records, and project safety files.
Work closely with operations, project managers, site leads, subcontractors, and customers to drive a strong safety culture.
Stay current with applicable OSHA, MOL, provincial/state, customer, and internal safety requirements.
Ideal Candidate
Experience in construction, industrial contracting, warehouse automation, racking, conveyor, mechanical/electrical, or field installation environments.
Strong knowledge of jobsite safety, equipment, fall protection, lifts, permits, inspections, and documentation.
Comfortable travelling to active job sites across Canada and the USA.
Able to communicate clearly with field crews, supervisors, project managers, customers, and subcontractors.
Strong documentation and follow-up skills.
Practical field-first mindset, not just paperwork safety.
Confident enough to stop unsafe work when required.
Preferred Qualifications
NCSO, CRSP, CHSC, CSP, or similar safety designation.
OSHA 30 preferred.
Experience supporting large industrial customers, GCs, distribution centers, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, or logistics operations.
Experience building safety programs for a fast-growing company.
Pay: $78,083.21-$90,027.85 per year
