J Light Photography Studio is looking for a creative, reliable, and passionate Freelance Wedding & Event Photographer to join our growing team. This is a contract-based opportunity for photographers who enjoy capturing authentic moments and delivering high-quality imagery.
Assignments include weddings, engagements, family sessions, commercial projects, and special events across Ottawa and surrounding areas. Work is scheduled based on client bookings.
Responsibilities
- Photograph weddings, engagements, events, portraits, and commercial projects.
- Capture candid moments and important details with creativity and professionalism.
- Work closely with clients while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.
- Arrive on time and represent J Light Photography Studio professionally.
- Deliver RAW image files after each assignment.
- Follow creative direction and maintain consistent image quality.
- Travel to various locations across Ottawa and surrounding areas.
Requirements
- Previous experience in wedding or event photography.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating photography skills.
- Proficiency with Canon or Sony professional cameras.
- Knowledge of natural light and flash photography.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Own professional camera equipment and lenses.
- Experience photographing multicultural weddings is an asset.

Candidates are required to own and maintain their own professional photography equipment, including a full-frame camera body, professional lenses, external flash units, memory cards, spare batteries, and all necessary accessories to ensure consistent, high-quality coverage of weddings, events, and commercial assignments.
Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
