About us
Prairie Grown Early Learning Centre (PG ELC) is a non-profit and subsidized childcare centre for children ages 18 months to end of kindergarten. PG ELC is dedicated to creating early childhood programming that promotes an early learning environment led by the principles of Play and Exploration from the Ministry of Education. PG ELC focuses on child-led play with a focus on environments that incorporate sustainable materials in each classroom.
At PG ELC, ECEs play an extremely important role to help build on each child’s strengths and abilities in a safe and nurturing environment. Educators are responsive to the interests of the group of children in their care through observation and provide engaging experiences based on developmentally appropriate practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to a child requiring additional assistance while promoting participation and inclusion within the classroom environment.
- Support the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and communication development of all children through play-based learning experiences.
- Assist in implementing childcare programs that meet the developmental needs and interests of children.
- Plan and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
- Observe and document children's progress and collaborate with families, co-workers, and community professionals as needed.
- Support daily routines, transitions, meals, outdoor play, and self-help skill development.
- Maintain classroom materials and equipment and assist with housekeeping duties as required.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, co-workers, and community service providers.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to support the needs of the entire classroom.
Qualifications
Completion of one of the following:
- Early Childhood Educator Level I Certificate (Level I ONLY)
- Education Assistant Certificate
- Related education and experience working with young children may be considered

Pay: $15.56-$21.41 per hour
