Sandbox VR Ottawa is the world’s most advanced location-based virtual reality experience, where groups of friends, families, and teams step into full-body VR adventures together – from surviving a zombie apocalypse to battling it out on a futuristic starship. We are looking for a high-energy team of Guest Experience Guides (store employees / team members) who will deliver unforgettable visits from the moment guests walk through the door.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Guest Experience Guide, you’re part host, part game master, part brand ambassador. Create unforgettable guest moments
- Welcome guests at the entrance with energy, answer questions, and set the tone for a fun, premium experience.
- Guide groups through their entire VR journey: check-in, gearing up, in-game support, and gearing down.
- Hype up the experience, keep guests comfortable and safe, and make sure everyone leaves buzzing and wanting to come back.
- Help guests capture and share their memories by organizing their photos and videos after the session.
- Socialize with guests at the main entrance and try to attract more business by handing out coupons, flyers, etc.
- Be a part of our marketing campaigns.
Be a tech & experience expert
- Learn how to set up, calibrate, and monitor our VR gear (headsets, trackers, iPads, body suits, etc.).
- Help guests put on and adjust their equipment properly, keeping immersion high and safety top-of-mind. Troubleshoot basic technical hiccups on the fly and communicate clearly and calmly with guests and your manager when issues pop up.
Keep the store “experience-ready”
- Maintain a clean, organized, premium-feeling environment in the lobby, play rooms, and back-of-house.
- Sanitize and reset gear between groups so every team gets a fresh, flawless experience.
- Help with front-of-house tasks such as check-ins, bookings, merchandise, and upsells (e.g., gift cards, repeat visits, party packages).
Be part of a growing brand
- Give feedback and ideas to improve guest experience, operations, and the overall vibe of the Ottawa store.
- Support teammates during busy periods – swapping roles (front desk, briefing, game running, cleaning) as needed.

Skills & experience
- Strong customer service / hospitality skills – you might have worked in retail, restaurants, hotels, entertainment, or events. (1+ year in a customer-facing role is an asset but not mandatory.)
- Comfortable with technology: using tablets, basic software, headsets, and learning new systems. VR/gaming interest is a big plus, but we’ll train you.
- Excellent communication in English; additional languages are a strong assets in a diverse city like Ottawa.
Physical & availability requirements
- 18+ years old.
- Able to be on your feet for extended periods, bend, move, and occasionally lift up to ~40 lb (gear, boxes, etc.).
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays – these are our busiest times.
- Reliable transportation to/from 45 Rideau St.
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly rate starting at $17.60–$22.00/hr, based on experience and availability.

Schedule
- Shifts will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Part-time: typically 10–20 hours/week.
- Full-time: typically 30–40 hours/week.
- Extra hours may be available around grand opening, holidays, and group events.
