The Quality Organization is currently seeking a Resident/Quality Engineer for its Etobicoke Casting Plant located at Etobicoke, Ontario. This position offers the selected candidate an opportunity to be an integral part of a company whose focus is to change the automotive landscape. The Resident/Quality Engineer is responsible for resolution of defects associated with part quality. This Resident/Quality Engineer is the lead person for part issue identification and resolution, and will lead the execution of special evaluations and quality checks to ensure quality product is delivered to the customer, and drive and support the cultural change to implement the Stellantis Production Way (SPW) operating model. The Resident/Quality Engineer will work closely with Process Planners to ensure Quality is maintained with a stable standardized casting process, and will be a high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions - a self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style, and demeanor, effectively sells ideas and solutions to others. Moreover, this person must have unquestioned integrity.
Specific responsibilities for the role are: Providing quick response to product or process quality issues utilizing data and world class manufacturing methods to drive problem solving; Investigating and developing solutions for scrap reduction, machine issues; Working with machining suppliers for quality issue resolution using 8 stages of incoming quality control; Assisting Quality Assurance in part containments when non-conformances are found; Effectively communicating issues to all shifts for rapid resolutions; Creating transparency of data and summarizes analysis; Establishing partnerships both internally and externally and to influence without direct authority; Driving team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles; Demonstrating unwavering commitment to delivering results and champion achievements; Exhibiting the willingness to do things differently and consistently translating ideas into actions that deliver results; and Possessing strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment.
The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $95,000 per year.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher (Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering is preferred)
- Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

- High level of mechanical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum FIVE (5) years' experience in a fast pace unionized manufacturing environment
- Understand the theory and have practiced World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques, specifically related to QCS and EPM technical pillars
- Knowledge and experience in aluminum die casting
- Knowledge and experience in propulsion systems manufacturing
- Knowledge of Operational Transformation Process (OTP) and Process Planning and Audit (PPA) process and elements (formerly PSO)
- Previous Automotive Engineering and Supplier Quality experience a plus
- Practical experience in Die Casting, Injection Molding, or Aluminum Foundry environments
- Aluminum metallurgy experience, including destructive and non-destructive testing (tensile, X-Ray, Fluorescent Penetrant) of aluminum
- Formal reactive problem solving training (i.e. green/black belt, Six-Sigma, etc.)
- Familiarity with casting simulation software (MagmaSoft / Flow3D)
- Proficiency in advanced data analysis tools/methods include Pivot-Tables and MiniTab
Compensation: $75,000 to $95,000 per year.
