Do you enjoy being on the road and take pride in operating specialized equipment with precision We're looking for a Class 3 Driver / Pavement Marking Truck Operator to join a growing team responsible for applying the road markings that help keep motorists safe across New Brunswick.
Whether you have direct pavement marking experience or you're an experienced commercial driver with strong mechanical skills looking to learn a specialized trade, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Pavement Marking Truck Operator, you'll operate specialized line-painting equipment while ensuring every project is completed safely, accurately, and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the paint truck and its operating systems.
- Operating pavement marking equipment to apply roadway markings with precision using onboard guidance systems, GPS, cameras, and measuring tools.
- Monitoring paint flow, pressure, temperature, and application quality throughout each project.
- Loading and mixing traffic paint and reflective glass beads according to project specifications.
- Communicating with crew members, supervisors, and traffic control personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Completing daily production reports, equipment logs, and maintenance records.
- Performing routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting, including nozzle changes, filter cleaning, and pump adjustments.
- Maintaining compliance with all traffic safety, environmental, and provincial regulations.
- Keeping equipment, the truck cab, and work areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
- Assisting the crew with setup, teardown, and other field duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes safety seriously, and is comfortable operating commercial equipment in a fast-paced environment.
You bring:
- A valid Class 3 or Class 1 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Air Brake endorsement (preferred).
- At least 2 years of commercial driving experience. Previous pavement marking or line painting experience is considered a strong asset.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance and minor field repairs.
- A strong understanding of road safety and work zone procedures.
- The ability to read project plans, road maps, and marking layouts.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work nights, early mornings, weekends, overtime, and in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel throughout New Brunswick for multi-day projects.
