With guidance from the Quality Control and Quality Assurance Specialists and in collaboration with Production Leads the Quality Technician is responsible for implementation of the quality management system on the production floor.
Responsibilities:
- Issue batch records to the Production Team.
- Review of batch records for completeness and accuracy. Troubleshoot any discrepancies.
- Ensure and enforce Good Documentation Practices on all applicable documents.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and room release for all production processes.
- Perform product inspections, both raw materials and finished products.
- Assist with quality and inventory investigations.
- Monitor process control points and take measures to eliminate deviations.
- Ensures and monitors adherence to SOPs.
- Receive raw materials; review COAs, inspect products, confirm quantities.
- Release raw materials into production processes.
- Assist with Pest Control Monitoring.
- Monitor facility sanitation through microbial analysis.
- Ensure integrity of products, including oversight of annual and semi-annual inventories. Investigate variances and reconciliations.
- Oversee sampling of raw materials and finished goods for testing and retention purposes. Including completing sample requests for laboratories.
- Assist with authorization, processing and managing all returned products.
- Assist with operational activities as required.
- Review COAs and all other private brand documents.
- Complete all other tasks related to the position, as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor of Science preferred or equivalent experience in quality assurance / quality control.
● Knowledge of cannabis regulations and processing is considered an asset.
● Previous experience with a Canadian license holder is an asset.
● Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
● Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
● Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
● Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
● Capable of multitasking with minimal supervision.
● Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and stand for extended periods of time.
● Able to wear/use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time (i.e. Gloves, coveralls, lab coat, hairnet, beard net, safety glasses, respirator).
