Job description – Sewing Department Laborer
Springwall Sleep Products Inc. is one of the largest manufacturers of premium sleep products in Canada. We have an opening for a day shift Sewing Department Laborer at our Calgary, Alberta factory.
As a Sewing Department Laborer, you will work under the direction of the Production Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
· Following health and safety standards.
· Maintaining a clean workstation and production floor.
· Assembling products and parts.
· Following production guidelines and specifications.
· Finalizing and packaging products for shipment.
· Operating and maintaining sewing equipment.
· Monitoring the assembly line and removing faulty products.
· Working in the sewing department and meeting production targets.
· Reporting any issues to the supervisor on duty.
· Performing other tasks as assigned.
Requirements, skills, and qualifications
- Able to perform moderate physical activity requiring handling of average-weight objects up to 5-10kg or standing and/or walking for eight (8) hours per day
- Pro-active individual capable of identifying problems, recommending solutions, and implementing corrective actions either individually or as part of a team.
