Job Summary:
Sun Ridge Contracting Ltd. is looking for experienced Gravel and Hydrovac Truck Operators to join our growing Environmental team for work in the Clearwater/Valemount area (LOA provided). This individual will be responsible for driving and operating units to perform the excavation activities associated with pipeline, construction, and utility work. Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate gravel and hydrovac trucks to and from job/client site and to perform duties in a variety of working environments, including confined spaces
- Prepare safety measures and address potential hazards
- Document and report all SRE, federal, provincial, and customer paperwork accurately and efficiently
- Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance of the hydrovac equipment
- Attend and participate in safety meetings
- Understand and abide by company policies and procedures.
Abilities:
- Drive and operate gravel and hydrovac trucks through varied terrain and all-weather conditions
- Understand and comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours, and occupational health and safety
- Working knowledge of and ability to operate an Electronic Logging Device and digital safety management software
- Professionalism – Accountable, dependable and maintains confidentiality. Commitment to ethics, integrity, and confidentiality. High energy and ability to manage stress.
- Ability to travel and work variable shifts with extended hours.
Requirements:
- Valid Class 3 driver’s license (Class 1 with airbrake endorsement an asset)
- Clean drivers abstract
- First-aid, H2S alive, ground disturbance and confined space certificates preferred
- 2 years’ experience with Industrial vacuum truck and excavating experience
- Must be able to lift, push, pull 50lbs and have the physical stamina for manual labor in varied weather conditions.
