Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant or Technician with a minimum of 1 year of pharmacy assistant/technician work experience in Canada (Volunteer experience is not counted). The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with pharmacy workflow, strong communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy and patient care. Experience with Fillware Pharmacy Management System is a strong asset.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory, including restocking supplies and verifying medication stock levels
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Enter prescription data into pharmacy systems with attention to detail
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support medication administration processes as needed, ensuring proper documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery
- Uphold safety standards and cleanliness within the pharmacy area
Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in Canada
- Experience with Fillware PMS is preferred
- Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems
- Excellent communication skills—verbal and written. English proficiency (spoken and written) is mandatory.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly, professional, and patient-focused attitudePrior experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to customer service
