C.E Technology Solutions Ltd. is a Sarnia-based security systems integrator serving residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal clients across Southwestern Ontario. We specialize in intrusion alarm systems, fire alarm monitoring, CCTV and video surveillance, access control, and communications services. As our project portfolio continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced leader to help direct and develop our installation team. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Lead Installation Technician (Installation Technician Supervisor) to provide day-to-day leadership of our installation team. This is a working leadership position: the successful candidate will direct and support installation technicians on active job sites while also completing service calls and installation projects independently as operational needs require.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, self-motivated professional with demonstrated leadership experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a proven technical background in CCTV, access control, and low-voltage alarm systems. Hands-on experience with DSC NEO alarm systems is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, direct, and mentor installation technicians on job sites, assigning tasks and overseeing daily workflow
- Ensure all installations meet company standards for quality, safety, and workmanship
- Provide on-site training, technical guidance, and support to junior technicians
- Coordinate with the Owner / Operations Lead on scheduling, project status, and resource requirements
- Foster a professional, collaborative, and positive team environment
Installation & Commissioning
- Install, wire, program, and commission DSC NEO and other low-voltage alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments
- Install and commission CCTV / video surveillance and access control systems
- Run and terminate low-voltage cabling and maintain a clean, professional finish in all work areas
- Oversee commissioning and final verification of completed systems prior to client handover
Service & Troubleshooting
- Perform service calls and standalone installation projects independently as required
- Diagnose and repair faults across alarm, CCTV, and access control systems, including systems installed by other companies
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, and installation documentation
- Complete accurate service records and documentation for every site visit
Customer Service
- Represent C.E Technology Solutions professionally at all client sites
- Communicate clearly with clients, explaining technical matters in plain language
- Train customers on system operation and use
- Prioritize and manage multiple jobs and service calls efficiently
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Proven hands-on experience installing, programming, and servicing CCTV / video surveillance systems
- Proven hands-on experience installing, programming, and servicing access control systems
- Proven hands-on experience installing, programming, and servicing low-voltage alarm systems
- Direct experience with DSC NEO alarm systems (installation and programming)
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising, mentoring, or leading technicians or trades teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, positive approach consistent with our workplace culture
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage projects from start to finish
- Valid Ontario G driver's license with a clean driving record
Strongly Preferred
- Experience with cellular communicators and IP-based communication paths
- Familiarity with the Alarm.com platform
- Knowledge of ULC installation and inspection requirements (CAN/ULC-S302, S304, S561)
- Experience completing inspection reports and formal service documentation
Assets
- Working at Heights certification
- WHMIS certification
- First Aid certification
- Lift / aerial work platform training
- Experience on active construction sites
- Experience with structured cabling and networking
- DSC or other manufacturer training certifications
