ROLE DESCRIPTION
Junior Environmental Technicians are a key component of our field team. This entry level role is ideal for individuals who are eager to develop hands on, field-based skills while working alongside experienced environmental professionals in a supportive, safety-focused environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & DELIVERABLES
Deliverable 1: Production
- Maintain a minimum bi-weekly billable rate of 90% of work hours dedicated to project activities, with the remaining 10% allocated to training and office duties.
- Attend daily team meetings to understand projects, daily goals, and weekly goals.
- Participate in safety meetings and conduct field level hazard assessments.
- Assist in ensuring tools and materials are prepared in advance to enhance project efficiency.
- Refer all client questions related to changes to project timelines, Scope of Work, design, and Change Orders to supervisor.
- Communicate professionally with clients and subcontractors.
Deliverable 2: Administrative Tracking Systems
- Maintain accurate, daily data entry in the company’s administrative and project tracking systems, including:
- Harvest – time and expense entry system
- FieldShare – project management system
- WorkHub – health and safety management system
- SharePoint – document management system
- Other systems as required
- Contribute to 5+ technical improvements or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) annually.
- Support stakeholder relationships and communication plan.
Deliverable 3: Training & Professional Development
- Regularly meet with supervisor to participate in goal setting and review activities, working diligently towards maintaining an average of 3/5 on performance assessments applicable to the role, and following standard operating procedures.
- Maintain continuous professional career development through team meetings, membership in professional organizations recognized in the province of British Columbia, and enrollment in industry related technical courses.
- Support positive employee relations with adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Foster an environment where company values are held paramount.
SKILL SET & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
- 0-5 years of relevant environmental work experience
- Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations and regional Indigenous restoration frameworks
- Experience in the BC oil & gas or northern Canadian resource sector is considered an asset
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support senior staff with the execution of field programs, including:
- Construction environmental monitoring
- Remediation and reclamation projects
- First Nations and industry pre-engagement assessments
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and mitigation measures
- Monitor construction and operational activities for environmental impacts
- Collect field data, photographs, and maintain accurate daily field notes
- Assist with environmental sampling for soil, water, wildlife, and vegetation programs
- Identify and report environmental concerns or non-compliance issues to senior staff
- Assist with the preparation of daily monitoring logs and summary reports
- Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies
- Perform other field or office support duties as required

- Hourly Rate Range: $24 - $31
- Salary Range Equivalent (before overtime): $49,920 to $64,480
